Hotkeys allow you to control the application using keyboard shortcuts. This helps you use Screenbits without having its user interface included in the recorded video. Hotkeys work even when the application is minimized or is not in the foreground.

General Compact View Switches to Compact view or back to the default view (none)
Area Selection Opens area selection tool to select an area from the screen (none)
Recording Start / Stop recording Starts recording or stops it if recording is already started F10
Pause / Resume recording Pauses recording or resumes it if recording is already paused Shift+F10

Output audio Turn on / Turn off Turns output audio on or off (none)
Mute / Unmute Mutes or unmutes output audio (none)

Push-to-talk Unmutes input audio while the key is pressed (none)

Custom hotkeys

In order to assign a hotkey for an action:

  1. Select Settings from Menu to open Settings.
  2. Click Hotkeys from the side bar to open Hotkeys settings.
  3. Click on one of of the text boxes to enter a shortcut for an action.
  4. Hold the desired keys down on your keyboard so the combination appear in the box.

Notes:

  • Not all the key combinations are valid for a hotkey. You need to enter a valid key combination for each action to work.
  • Another application might have already registered a hotkey which makes it unusable for Screenbits.
  • Use delete (Del) key to clear a hotkey for an action.
